Golden Gate at the 10th Vietnam Pathology and Cytology Scientific Conference

On December 11, the 10th Vietnam Pathology and Cytology Scientific Conference was successfully held in Hanoi, with the sponsorship of Golden Gate Commercial Joint Stock Company  and several other organizations. The conference attracted the participation of over 500 delegates from across the country.

The conference was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tuan Dung – President of the Vietnam Society of Pathology and Cytology; Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan – Vice Chairman of the National Medical Council and Deputy Minister of Health; Dr. Pham Van Tac – Vice Chairman of the National Medical Council and Director General of the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Xuyen – President of the Vietnam Medical Association, President of the Medical Association of Southeast Asian Nations, and former Deputy Minister of Health; and Prof. Dr. Nguyen Sao Trung – Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Medical Association, along with over 500 professors, associate professors, PhDs, MScs, doctors, and pathology technicians from across the country.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Tuan Dung emphasized that pathology and cytology are playing an increasingly important role in modern medicine, particularly in the field of oncology. Accurate diagnosis and classification of cancers — including histological types, malignancy grades, and disease stages — can be achieved through patient specimens. By applying advanced techniques and high levels of expertise, pathologists are able to precisely analyze samples, thereby selecting the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient and contributing to better monitoring and prognosis.

The scientific conference served as a valuable opportunity for delegates from both Vietnam and abroad to exchange knowledge, skills, and experience, as well as to update themselves on the latest advancements in pathology and cytology. This year’s event featured 5 sessions with a total of 51 highly practical presentations. These presentations offered authoritative, up-to-date, and comprehensive insights into the role of pathology, highlighting many modern techniques applied in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, especially cancer-related conditions.

In addition, the conference featured in-depth research presentations on artificial intelligence in histopathological diagnosis of lung cancer metastases; deep learning models for assessing histopathological features of acute tubular injury; placenta accreta; and histopathological diagnosis based on the latest WHO classification standards 2022 — all of which were presented in detail during the event.

In addition, attendees had the opportunity to experience the Ctytology online training platform firsthand and participated in lively discussions.

At the conclusion of the conference, Assoc.
